Relationships with family don’t end when prison begins, but they do become harder. Families in Crisis teaches offenders how to connect with loved ones, strengthening and healing relationships.
Offenders and families learn how to become more productive members of their community, so that our communities become better places in which to live and work, for all of us.
Naturally, we feel empathy for the victims of a crime. But we don’t generally think about the others affected – the families of offenders. They have committed no crime, but their lives are drastically changed.
Families in Crisis is a family services agency that helps offenders and their loved ones confront and overcome challenges.
Our families build fundamental skills and meet basic needs through participating in specialized counseling, education, case management, and related services. Our programs take place in the community, in homes, at our offices, and of course, in prison. Our commitment is to help offenders and their families envision and embrace a better future for themselves and their communities.
